9th Grade Preview Night will be held for all 8th graders tomorrow, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 6pm (at all high schools). Please take your student to check this out! High School is just around the corner and this is a great opportunity to check the school out and meet teachers and admin! 8th graders met with high school Deans today as a preview. Don't forget to ask them about what they learned.
Thank you for getting your students to school before 8am! Attendance matters!! We are down from about 80 students being late daily to only about 25. This is a huge improvement. Remember, if your child is going to be late, has an appointment or will not be in for the day to please call: 217-525-3170 to let us know.

ALL activities have been CANCELLED for after school for GMS today due to inclement weather. There will be no activity buses today. Please stay safe and warm this weekend.

Good morning!! We are open today! Please dress warmly if you are walking or a bus rider waiting for the buses. We look forward to seeing everyone today! Remember, our learning starts promptly at 8 am.

While at this time we DO plan to be in school tomorrow, we also know that the weather is looking snowing , In preparation, students were shown today, as a reminder how to log in to take their attendance and what their expectations are IF we need to us an E-Learning day (complete all online assignments assigned via teacher Canvas pages). All students were reminded at 2:15 to take their Chromebooks and chargers home just in case. As we know more regarding school closings, we will be sure to communicate that with our families.

We are looking forward to seeing kids and getting back into our academic routines tomorrow! School will be open and we are excited about it!!
Attendance and passing grades are our focus and priority this semester so please make sure you give yourself some extra time in the morning to have students to school by 7:50 so they can be in their seats ready to learn when school starts at 8!! With that being said, we will be implementing a new late to school expectation/routine. Students who arrive after 8 will be calling home each time. Every 3rd tardy to school ( arrival between 8 and 8:20) will result in a lunch detention. Every minute counts and we need your help in ensuring your student(s) is in attendance everyday, on time and all day long!
Tuesday/Thursday learning lab (after school tutoring) will resume NEXT week. The Boys and Girls Club -21st century will be in effect tomorrow.
Here's to a great semester! See everyone tomorrow!

What a fantastic evening! Grant had its first ever Winter Formal! More pictures to come but congrats to our Snow King and Queen!!!

Dear Parents,
We wanted to let you know that the entrance for tonight's Winter Formal will be at the BACK of the school, on the side where the buses park. To make it easy to find, we will have Christmas lights decorating the stairwell leading to the entrance.
Please note: Students will also exit through the same location for pickup at 8:30 PM sharp.
We look forward to seeing everyone tonight and hope your student enjoys the event!

Come check out the GMS band concert! You can't miss us with the SMTD Holiday Bus parked out front! Concert starts at 6!

Good evening! Tomorrow Thursday, December 5, we will have our winter holiday concert at 6pm. Students performing are expected to be at Grant no later than 5:30 PM. We will also have the SMTD Holly bus on location in the front of the school. Due to the holiday bus on location, parking in the front will not be available. Please park in the Car drop off parking lot on the west side of the building. You may enter through the side doors ( like for athletic events) or through the front doors. Please know just like at all of our events, all will go through a security check. We are looking forward to a great evening of music and fun with our families.
